PAIR of LED light boards for conversion of Lucas ST51 'D Lamp' type lights fitted with FULL RED lenses to bright LED operation. On board electronics make this product suitable for 6V &12V vehicles, either Positive or Negative earth.
This is a new product specially designed to fit the Lucas ST51 lamp and modern reproductions to the original pattern such as Vintage Supplies'/sVc's '249 and 428' part number lamps. The product features a main, D shaped RED light board that locates between the original lens and the lens retaining wire. An additional WHITE LED light board is attached perpendicular to the main board to provide number plate illumination, though the assembly is suitable for D lamps with or without a number plate illumination window.
The board is fitted with one BAY15D bulb base connector (15mm diameter, double contact cap with vertically offset pins) on 15cm connecting wires. One contact of the double contact holder illuminates the Tail light (first brightness RED) and the Number Plate light (WHITE). The second contact illuminates the Stop light (second brightness RED). Use of a bulb base style connector allows easy return of the lamp to its original condition if required.
These boards have a very low power requirement and provide great all over lens lighting from 36 RED LEDS, with the fast response time/illumination under braking characteristic of LEDs - as well as good distinction between STOP and TAIL brightnesses. This is a 'plug and play' product that requires no other attachment other than plugging in the bulb connector, locating the LED board between the lens and the lens retaining spring clip and reassembly of the lamp. Two 1.5mm thick rubber lens seals are provided in the kit, in case they are needed. Conversion kit for a PAIR of lamps.
